Assignment of Dower}
In lands of W. A. Sossamon}
At this day the commissioners appointed of W. A. Sossamon to his widow makes these reports in words and figures as follows to wit:
State of Arkansas
County of Pope December 1865
In obedience to an order of Probate Court of Pope County of October 19th 1865. We the subscribing commissioners have met this day and laid off and assigned to the widow of the late W. A. Sossamon her Dower in the Real estate of her deceased husband consisting of sixty six acres of land lying on the West Side of the tract including the dwelling house other buildings where the deceased W. A. Sossamon had his residence and hence one hundred and sixty rods in length from North & south and Sixty six rods from West & east the boundaries are designated by suitable marks. Believing this assignment to be just and equitable in accordance with law we hereunto subscribe our names.

Frances Caroline Teeter daughter of Peter Teeter and Ann Elizabeth Dry married William Allison Sossamon on 5 December 1835 in Cabarrus County, North Carolina. between 1835 and 1850 they migrated from Cabarrus County, North Carolina to Pope County, Arkansas.


Frances Caroline Teeter Sossamon is my 1st Cousin 4 times removed.
