Without an index finding your ancestor is a massive effort searching each enumeration district page by page, line by line.
Today's Tip:
Look up your male ancestor in the World War II (WWII) Draft Card database on Ancestry.com[1].
This will give you an address and a starting point.
Take this card, I had no idea that my Uncle John was in North Carolina in the early 1940's. China Grove, at that time, was a big industrial textile city. Today that's all gone along with many others in the textile and furniture business.
Thanks for this good tip. I hadn't thought about using the WW II Draft Cards for the addresses!
