                                                To all to whom these presents shall come know ye that we have this day bargained sold and released and by these presents do bargain sell and release unto Charles Boan fifty-acres of land lying and being in the state and district aforesaid on the South side of Bear Creek. Beginning at the North corner of Charles Boan's land pine corner straight line to the head of a branch that empties into Rocky Prong pine corner thence a blazed line to the fork of Horsepen branch thence up said branch to the West corner of Charles Boans land thence with said line to the beginning. Together with all and singular the rights, members, hereditaments and appertaining. TO HAVE and to HOLD all and singular the premises before mentioned unto the said Charles Boan his heirs and assigns forever and we do hereby bind ourselves our Heirs executors and administrator to warrant and forever defend all and singular the said premises unto the said Charles Boan and his heirs and assigns against ourselves and Heirs. Witnefs our hands and seals this Eighteenth day of February Anno Domni One Thousand Eight hundred and thirty-six  and in the Sixtieth year of the Sovereignty and Independence of the United State of America.

Origl Delv' to Christopher Boan

 This pre-civil war land deed is dated 18 February 1836 and is one of very few deeds that were re-recorded after the Courthouse and its contents were burned during the war. It was re-recorded as indicated above on 15 February 1867.
