Phillip Sellers was born about 1774, the second child of Hardy Sellers and Mary Cook. Information on Phillip and his family is very sparse. We know he married a young lady with the given name Mary and had a very large family. Census records for 1810 shows 7 sons and 5 daughter under the age of 25; the names of the 5 daughters are unknown.

His father Hardy Sellers died 12 January 1835 and this record from the Court of Equity provided some data on the families.
