 Probate Petition
Death of I. S. Brock
Special to The State.
Cheraw, Oct. 13 -- Mr. J. S. Brock, one of Cheraw's most prominent business men, died at his home yesterday. He was buried this afternoon at 3 o'clock with Masonic honors. He was also a Knight of Pythias. His two daughters, who are students at Winthrop, reached home in time to be with their father during his last hours. 7 8

All of the children of age were girls; but Irvin and Mary also had a 7 year old son. No death date had been found for Mary A. Stubbs Brock. We do know that she and Irvin Samuel had a son, Leon Coit, born 17 February 1890. This birth most likely led to her death. Leon Coit Brock lived to be 81 year old and died on 12 December 1971 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
