First, let me say that the birth dates for both Andrew and his wife Elizabeth are wrong on this tombstone.

Andrew J. McBride b. 1855 was the son of Jerusha Davis and her husband Archie McBride. Andrew is enumerated with his siblings, his mother and grandmother in the 1860 census for Chesterfield County, SC. He is listed as an 8 years old male in the household (see Line 26). 




Elizabeth R. Boatwright was born about 1856, a daughter of George R. Boatwright and Lauretta Hurst.

Andrew and Elizabeth were married about 1877. They had four children:

• Mary A. McBride
• George R. McBride
• William T. McBride
• Lugenia ‘Lula’ J. McBride (Lugenia in 1900/1910 Census)

In the 1920 census Andrew is living with his son-in-law Jesse Gwyn Previtt and his daughter Lugenia ‘Lula’ the wife of Jesse. Ancestry really mangled their last name and they were somewhat difficult to find.

Both Andrew and Elizabeth are my 2nd cousins 3 times removed.
