Sunday’s Obituary~Daniel G. Graham
Mr. Daniel G. Graham
Mr. Daniel G. Graham died at his home at Midway, January 22nd, 1927, at 6:30 a.m., aged 78 years. Mr. Graham moved to Richmond County many years ago from Chesterfield County, SC, where he was born May 8th, 1848. He engaged in farming in several parts of the County, at the J. R. Coley place, later near Ellerbe and then in the Osborne section. He was married first to Miss Mary Ann Eddins on October 29th, 1873. After her death he married Miss Harriett Newell Deas, November 2, 1900. Mr. Graham was an honest, kind hearted, friendly man and enjoyed the confidence and esteem of a wide circle of sincere friends. He had a cheerful disposition – never sorrowed by the vexations of life – always ready with a kind word or an innocent joke, which he thoroughly enjoyed and never resented even when told at his own expense. The funeral services were held at Mount Olive Methodist Church, Chesterfield County, where he was a member, and had been since early childhood. Services were conducted by the pastor of Mt. Olive church and Rev. F. T. Biggs with a large congregation of friends and relatives. Interment was in the church cemetery. Mr. Graham is survived by a wife and seven children.
Daniel’s first wife, Mary Ann Eddins is my 1st Cousin threes times removed.
Mary Ann Eddins is the daughter of James Ellis Eddins, Sr, and Diana ‘Ann’ Boan.
