Alexander Huneycutt Death - Civil War

State of North Carolina}
Cabarrus County} This day Sarah Honeycutt personally appeared before me J. S. Denker A Justice of the peace for said County And made oath in due form of law, that she is the widow of Alexander Honeycutt, a Private in Co. B. 46 Regiment of North Carolina State Troops. That the said Alexander Honeycutt died in the camp at Raleigh No. Ca. on 3rd May last 1862. That as his widow I am entitled to the pay and Bounty that may be due the said Alexander Honeycutt, Deceased, and that she now desires to draw the same.
Also appeared John Barba at the Same time and place, and made oath that he knows of his own knowledge that the Said Sarah Honeycutt is the widdow of Alexander Honeycutt, Deceased, and the facts as set forth above are true and That he is Entirely Disinterested.

Alexander Huneycutt, born 1825 was a son of Lewis Huneycutt and Mary Ann ‘Polly’ Rowland. He was the grandson of Dempsey Huneycutt and Ruth Keyes.
Alexander married,  about 1849,  Sarah Jane Crayton. They had six children; 4 sons and 2 daughters.2 3

On  16 April 1862, Alexander enlisted into Company “B’ 46th Regiment, NC State Troops. On 3 May 1862, he died while “in Camp” at Raleigh, North Carolina. His Civil War service record on Fold3.com shows that he died of “croup colic”. 4 5 

After the death of Alexander, his widow, Sarah Jane Crayton Huneycutt married on 2 January 1870 John Rosencrans.6
