It’s Family Time~Pushing Back Another Generations

Family TimeI have spent most of this week attempting to push my paternal line back another generation. When I look at the data I have collected it doesn’t seem to be very much for the time I spent gathering and verifying the information.

Research indicates that this couple is the parents of my 5th Great Grandfather Charles Dry; proving the lineage has been very difficult with limited resources available.
 Generation Sixth Great

It’s out there, the internet says that Charles Dry (1735-1797) is the son of Johan Georg Duerr and his wife Margaretha Clara Augenstein. But is it true? It’s a long process documenting and proving or disproving this statement.

The Duerr/Dry migrated from Germany to Pennsylvania where many of them married before moving south into North Carolina. They were hard working, church going men and women; many of the Lutheran faith. Their migration can be tracked through local church records along the route they traveled.

The marriage of Charles Dry and Christina Muss was documented in the New Goshenhoppen Reformed Church, Upper Hanover Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.

I’m looking forward to researching and documenting the life of this couple and their children.
