Rolin Kite

Rolin Kite was born 18 April 1818 in Chesterfield County, South Carolina. To my knowledge, the parents of Rolin Kite had never been identified; but, it is my opinion that Edmund Kite and his wife Jean are either his parents or grandparents. 

About 1865, Rolin married Ellen Elizabeth Massey daughter of William Lawrence Massey and Huldah Meadows. They had one known child.

• Mary Rebecca ‘Beckie’ Kite, b. Feb. 5, 1869; married Miles Watson, died May 8, 1954.

Rolin was a very successful farmer and served as Probate Judge for the County in the early 1880’s. He also provided the land for Shiloh Church.  

Rolin died November 12, 1897 and was buried in the Kite Cemetery.
