It's Family Time
In 1850 Luke Rivers and his wife Mary Selina Johns were living in Chesterfield County, South Carolina.

Luke was  a son of Mark Rivers and Annie Parker and a few years earlier his sister Millie and brother Mark had migrated to Mississippi. Evidently Mark and Millie were in contact with Luke and convinced him between 1850 and 1860 to move to Mississippi. Luke and his wife moved with their four children, 3 daughters and a son, to Jones County Mississippi arriving before 1859. Their arrival was early enough in the 1850’s for their daughter Nancy Elizabeth to meet and fall in love with Moses Holyfield, Jr. Moses and Nancy Elizabeth were married in 1859. In 1860, they are enumerated as a family unit.
