It’s Family Time~Sarah Frances 'Sallie" Purvis and John Rufus Lang

It's Family Time
The Family Bible shows that Sarah Frances "Sallie" Purvis was born on 16 June 1892 in Morven, Anson, North Carolina. Her tombstone and death certificate are both in conflict with this data. The June 1892 date does match the 1900 Census.

Sarah Frances was the fifth of 7 children born to William James Purvis and Mary Hulda Previtte. At age 18 on 10 June 1910 Sarah Frances Purvis and John Rufus Lang were married in Chesterfield County, South Carolina.

John Rufus Lang, born 6 March 1883 was the son of Margie Lang.

John Rufus was a lifelong farmer in Anson County, North Carolina. In the early years of their marriage Sallie and John Rufus lived near her parents.

Their marriage would produce 9 children; five daughters and four sons of which one daughter died at 14 months of age.
