Thomas Brooks Sellers, son of Phillip A. Sellers and Martha Ann Brooks Sellers married Mary M. Hinson on 3 April 1889 in Wadesboro, Anson County NC.

Mary M Hinson was the daughter of  Thomas Benjamin Sellers and Saline Caroline ‘Sallie’ Clark.

Her marriage license show Mary as being age 21, and the daughter of Thomas B Hinson and H. Mattie Dense. [Dense was mostly likely Deese]. Either way, the mother’s name on the marriage license is incorrect.

Thomas Benjamin Hinson was twice married. His first wife Saline Caroline ‘Sallie’ Clark whom he married about 1865. Thomas and Sallie had 3 children:
  • Benjamin Franklin Hinson, b. 21 Dec 1866
  • Mary M. Hinson, b. 1868
  • Leonidus James ‘Leon’ Hinson, 28 Oct 1869
Sallie Clark Hinson died in 1870 according to her tombstone in the Hinson Cemetery, Morven, NC. See Find A Grave Memorial# 48525958.

After the death of Sallie,  Thomas Benjamin Hinson married Margaret Jane Sellers daughter of Phillip A. Sellers and Martha Ann Brooks Sellers.

Thomas Brook Sellers and Mary M. Hinson married in April 1889 had two children.
  • Julian Thomas Sellers, b. 1 June 1888
  • Carrie Sellers, b. Jan 1890
Thomas Brooks Sellers died unexpectantly on 25 April 1894 when he was shot and killed by his brother-in-law.

His widow, Mary Hinson Sellers, married George Washington Ratliff, 3 children, and then John Tyler Henry in 1902. Mary Hinson Sellers Ratliff Henry died on 2 August 1931.
