Treasure Chest Thursday~1809 Marriage Bond-Peter Teter and Elizabeth Dry

KNOW all Men by these Presents, That we Peter Teter and Jacob Teter__________in the State aforesaid, are held and firmly bound unto then Governor of the state of North Carolina for the time being, in the juft and full sum of Five Hundred Pounds, current money of the State, to be paid to the Said Governor, or his succefsors or afsigns: To the which payment well and truly to be made and done, we bind ourselves, our Heirs, Executors, and Administrators. Sealed with our seals, and dated this 25th day of March Anno Domini 1809.
The condition of the above obligation is such, That whereas the above bounden Peter Teter_____________hath made application for a Licenfe for a Marriage to be celebrated between him and Elizabeth Dry________of the county aforesaid: Now in cafe it shall not appear hereafter that there is any lawful caufe to obstruct the faid marriage, then the above obligation to be void, otherwife to remain in full force and virtue.

Peter Teter, b. 1787 and Ann Elizabeth Dry, b. march 1787 were married on 25 March 1809 in Cabarrus County, North Carolina. Peter Teter’s parent are unknown at present; Ann Elizabeth Dry was the daughter of Johan Martin Dry and Catherine Keppel.
Sometime before 1850, Peter and Elizabeth migrated from Cabarrus County, NC to Pope County, Arkansas. Ann Elizabeth Dry Teter died on 1 January 1859 inn Russellville, Pope County, Arkansas. After the death of Ann Elizabeth; Peter, age 72, married a lady by the name of Mary Nealy on 3 November 1859. He died sometime after 1860 and before 1870.
Peter and Ann Elizabeth had two known children; Martin Archibald and Fanny Caroline.
Ann Elizabeth Dry Teter is my 3rd Great Grand Aunt.
