It’s Family Time~James Alexander “Zannie’ Brock and Lucretia C. Brock
James Alexander ‘Zannie’ Brock was born on 5 Feb 1880, the only child of David Brock and Eliza Jane ‘Jannie’ White.
On 8 December 1912, James Alexander “Zannie’ married Lucretia C. Brock, daughter of Samuel Washington Brock and Sarah Jane Lee. As a young lad “Zannie” worked as a Miller in a Grist Mill for the rest of his life he was a farmer in the county.
Zannie and Lucretia had 5 children; three daughters and two sons.
I. Gertrude Brock, born 29 Aug 1913, Chesterfield, Chesterfield, South Carolina; married Thomas Hildreth Brock; died 3 Jan 1982, Monroe, Union, North Carolina.
ii. Elmer Manning Brock Sr., born 23 Dec 1915, Chesterfield, Chesterfield, South Carolina; married Eva Teal; died 4 Nov 1995, Archdale, Randolph, North Carolina.
iii. Edwin Benjamin Brock was born on 23 Jul 1919 in Chesterfield, Chesterfield, South Carolina. He died on 31 Dec 1969 at the age of 50 in Washington, DC. He was buried on 4 Jan 1970 in Chesterfield, Chesterfield, South Carolina.
iv. Ruby Jane Brock, born 24 Jun 1921, Chesterfield, Chesterfield, South Carolina; married William David Garris; died 5 Apr 1976.
v. Dallas Inez Brock, born 24 Aug 1923, Anson County, North Carolina; married Dallas Williams; died 20 Jan 2001, Pinehurst, Moore, North Carolina.
James Alexander ‘Zannie’ Brock is my 2nd Cousin twice removed.
