On May 16, 1916, at 5:30 PM the death angel visited the home of Mr. Charlie Rivers and removed from their midst a devoted wife and a loving mother (Winnie Susanna Hendrick Rivers). Two weeks before her death she suffered a stroke of paralysis in Macedonia church of which she was a member. She was converted and joined Elizabeth Baptist Church at 13 years of age.
