Treasure Chest Thursday~Marriage License, Caudle-Rivers

On  5 May 1907 James E. Caudle, age 29, son of Jacob and Nancy Caudle and Miss Mattie Rivers, age 19, daughter of I. B and Effie Rivers were united in matrimony in Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.


I have no idea why this certificate shows that Mattie Rivers father was J. P. Rivers deceased. Her father was/is Isaac Berkley Rivers and mother is Effie Wadsworth. Isaac Berkley Rivers passed away on 27 March 1913 and Effie Wadsworth Rivers passed away in December 1935. Tragically, Mattie passed away on 14 April 1934 the year prior to her Mother’s death.
