Mary Florence Brock was born in May 1871 in Cheraw, Chesterfield, South Carolina. a daughter of Peter Haley Brock and Mary Ellen Liles. Mary Florence grew up in a large family with 8 sisters and 2 brothers.
At age 19, Mary Florence Brock and Burruss Finlayson were married in 1890. Burruss Finlayson, son of Murdock Uriah Finlayson and Martha Lucinda Pate, was born on 14 February 1868 in Chesterfield County, South Carolina. He was a Retail Merchant in Dry Goods.
Sadly, on 4 June 1903 at the age of 32, Mary Florence Brock Finlayson passed away Cheraw, Chesterfield, South Carolina. Mary Florence was buried in the Old Saint David’s Episcopal Church Cemetery, Cheraw, Chesterfield County, South Carolina.
Mary Florence Brock Finlayson is my 2nd Cousin twice removed.
