It’s Family Time~ Rebecca Brock and Isham Brackin Hinson

Its-Family-Time2
About 1818/1819 James L. Brock and Elizabeth Purvis migrated with her Father James F. Purvis, Sr and his brothers Gilbert, Joseph and others to Clarke County, Alabama and then on to Hinds/Rankin/Simpson County Mississippi.

About 1834 or maybe early 1835 Rebecca, age 15, daughter of James L. Brock and Elizabeth married a young man named Isham Bracken Hinson, age 26. Isham Brackin Hinson, son of John Hinson, was born on 24 Nov 1809 in GA.

Isham Brackin Hinson and Rebecca Brock would have four children before she passed away in 1846 most likely due to childbirth complications.

i. John Hinson was born on 28 Nov 1835.
ii. Mary Elizabeth Hinson was born on 27 Apr 1840.
iii. Sarintha Hinson was born on 22 Jan 1843.
iv. James Brock Hinson was born on 23 Jul 1846.

The unexpected death of Isham’s wife Rebecca left him with 4 small children to raise; a very difficult position for a farmer working the fields every day.

Isham's new wife turned out to be Rebecca’s 1st Cousin, Nancy Brock, the widow of John Glasscock with 4 children of her own. But, that's a new story in it’s own right.

Rebecca Brock Hinson is my 2nd Cousin 4 times removed.
