Marriage of John C. Wadsworth
John Carpenter Wadsworth was born on 6 July 1802 in North Carolina, a son of John B. Wadsworth and Elizabeth Carpenter. He was a Merchant.
At the age of 33, he married Winifred P. “Wincy” Ingram on 25 February 1836 in Anson County, North Carolina. Winifred P. “Wincy” Ingram was born abt 1821, a daughter of Thomas Ingram, Esq. of Anson County. The marriage was performed by the Rev. John Culpepper, Jr.

In Anson County, N.C. on Tuesday evening, the 25th of Feb., by the Rev. John Culpepper, Jr., Mr. John C. Wadsworth , Merchant of this place, to Miss Wincy P. daughter of Thomas Ingram, Esq.
The following chidden were born to John Carpenter Wadsworth and Winifred P. Ingram:
i. Mary E. Wadsworth, born abt 1836, Chesterfield, Chesterfield, South Carolina.
ii. Alice J. Wadsworth, born 2 Mar 1838, Chesterfield, Chesterfield, South Carolina; married James T. Kelly; died 21 Nov 1859, Chesterfield, Chesterfield, South Carolina.
iii. John A. Wadsworth was born about 1839 in Chesterfield, Chesterfield, South Carolina.
iv. John C. Wadsworth was born about 1841 in Chesterfield, Chesterfield, South Carolina.
v. Thomas J. Wadsworth was born about 1845 in Chesterfield, Chesterfield, South Carolina.
Sometime between 1860 and 1870, John and Wincy moved their family to Marshall County, Mississippi. They are buried in the Ingram Watkins Cemetery, Warsaw, Marshall County, Mississippi.
