Death Notice: Infant Child of Mr. and Mrs. Rowland Deese

Dr. John Rowland Deese was a local vet in Lumberton, Robeson County, NC. He was the son of Robert Clinton Deese and Julia Best.

John Rowland married Frances Hall on 10 May 1898. John and Frances had at least 5 boys of which 3 never reached adulthood. Their son, John T. Dees, died 17 May 1918 according to his tombstone in the Meadow Brook Cemetery. That date does not match this death notice unless there were twins.

Infant Child of Mr. and Mrs. Rowland Deese

The infant child of Mr. and Mrs. Rowland Deese, died Tuesday night in their home in the eastern part of town. Interment was made yesterday afternoon in Meadow Brook cemetery.

Dr. John Rowland Deese is my 2nd Cousin twice removed.
