Tabitha Lenora Huneycutt is my first cousin 3 times removed. She was born on 20 August 1878, a daughter of Tobias A. Huneycutt and Elizabeth Mariam “Mary Ann“ Huneycutt. She was their seventh and last-born child.
Tobias A. Huneycutt died before 1880 and his daughter Tabitha, age 11, is found with her Mother Elizabeth Mariam “Mary Ann “Huneycutt in the 1880 census for Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.
After that, I lost track of Tabitha until the early part of this month. Tabitha Lenora Huneycutt married William Henry Oxenham, of England, on 26 December 1893 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. Her mother had died 8 years earlier in June 1885.
After the birth of two children, both boys, William and Tabitha moved to Henrico County, Virginia sometime between February 1898 (birth of 2nd son) and May 1900 (birth of daughter Marion). After the birth of Daughter Marion in Feb 1900; Tabitha and William had one additional child, another daughter, Grace born December 1902.
The children of William Henry Oxenham and Tabitha Lenora Huneycutt are:
i. Thomas H. Oxenham was born in Jul 1895 in North Carolina.
ii. William T. Oxenham was born in Feb 1898 in North Carolina.
iii. Marian Siegel Oxenham, born May 1900, Henrico County, Virginia; married Wilbur Montague Rhodes.
iv. Grace L. Oxenham, born 25 Dec 1902; married Roy Julius Lanning; died 17 Jan 1963, Richmond, Virginia.
William Henry Oxenham died 9 Jan 1928 in Richmond County Virginia. His wife Tabitha lived another 6 years passing away on 28 December 1934 in Richmond.
William Henry and Tabitha Lenora along with their daughter Grace are buried in the Riverview Cemetery, Richmond, Richmond City, Virginia.
As stated above, Tabitha Lenora Huneycutt Oxenham is my first cousin 3 times removed.
