For several years he was an efficient member of the Methodist E. Church, South, on the Lilesville Circuit. At the last District Conference, (Charlotte), he was elected delegate to the Annual Conference, leading the ticket. None took more interest in all the enterprises of the church than Bro. Fladger. He was always ready to respond liberally to all calls for help to promote the cause of Christ. He was a man of nigh order of mind and culture, which was seen as Superintendent of the Sabbath School at the Lilesville church, which "he conducted with decided success. Like all that is human, he had his weaknesses. As a friend, he was true to the last, and toward his enemies he was forgiving.
