Pridgen~Brock Marriage

D’lo Brock, the 24 year old daughter of Collins Brock and Rachel Virginia Barkley Jones  and James Harris Pridgen son of Spencer Bankston Pridgen and wife Nannie J. Taylor were married on 20 August 1926 in New York.  Upon returning home their friends and family threw them a shower at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Bond.

"Shower" for Mr. and Mrs. Pridgen
The home of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Bond on Cherry street was the scene on Thursday evening of a delightful "shower" complimenting Mr. and Mrs. James Pridgen with Mrs. Baxter Pridgen as hostess. Miss D'Lo Brock and Mr. Pridgen were married in New York in the "Little Church around the Corner" on the twentieth of August and have recently arrived from their honeymoon to make Jackson their home. The lawn was most inviting and the "Treasure Hunt" revealed many beautiful gifts for the honor guests including those from the Y. W. A. of which Mrs. Pridgen is president, and the Griffith Memorial B. Y. P U., of which both young people are popular members. The rooms and halls were most inviting in pink and white roses, and here Miss Mamie Elan assisted in welcoming the guests. The delightful refreshments were prettily served on the lawn after all the gifts had been viewed and admired.

This was D’lo first marriage and the second marriage of her husband James Harris Pridgen.

While James Harris and his 1st wife were the parents of a son; I have found no evidence that James Harris and D’Lo Pridgen had any children. D’lo Brock died 11 June 1992. James Harris Pridgen died in August 1974.

D'lo Brock Pridgen is my distant cousin (3rd Cousin 3X Removed)

James Harris Pridgen was my deceased wife's Cousin (4th Cousin 2X Removed)
