52 Cousins~The Marriage of Joshua David

Joshua David was born abt 1745, a son of Evan David, Jr. and Mary Haughey. At the time of his birth the family was living in Pencader Hundred, Newcastle County, Delaware. 

Joshua David and Sidney Ellis were married on 1 February 1798 in the Pencader Presbyterian Church, Glasgow, Delaware. 

We know that the 1800 Census for Pencader Hundred, New Castle, Delaware show the family composition thusly:

1 Male, age 26-44 [Joshua] 

1 Female, age 26-44 [Sidney]

2 males under age 10

1 male, age 10-15 

1 female, under age 10

2 female, age 10-15

However, It is believed that Joshua and Sidney had no children or they all perished very young. Joshua in his undated Last Will and Testament named his wife, Sidney; several brothers, Evan, Elisha & Hugh; niece, Sarah Ellis and nephew, Hugh David; but, NO CHILDREN. Sarah in her last Will only named her niece, Sarah Ellis.

Joshua David died 31 October 1819, Newcastle County, Delaware.

Sidney (Ellis) David died  21 February 1827.

Both are buried in Pencader Cemetery, Glasgow, New Castle County, Delaware. 

Joshua David is my 1st Cousin 5X Removed.
