This Indenture made this ninth day of November In the year of Our Lord One Thousand seven hundred and Eighty Six and in the Eleventh year of the Independence of the United States of America Between Thomas Mathis of Orangeburrough District in the State of South Carolina plantr [planter] of the one part and Drury Lunday of Chesterfield County and State aforesaid plantr of the other part Witnefseth that the sd Thomas Mathis for and in consideration of the sum of one Pound Sterling to him in hand paid by the Said Drury Lunday before the Ensealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted, Bargained, Sold, Aliend, Enfeoffed, Conveyed and Conformed and by these Doth freely and absolutely grant, Bargain, Sell, Alien, Enffeof, Convey and Confirm unto the Said Drury Lunday one certain Parcel of Land lying and bring In Chesterfield County on the north side of Tomsons Creek containing by estimation Two Acres be the same more or Lefs Beginning at a Mulberry Tree on the Creek Then to James Mathis’s Line from thence to the Creek Thence down the Creek to the Mulberry Tree the beging <sic> it being a Tract or Parcel of Land Conveyed to said Thomas Mathis By a deed of Conveyance bearing date the nineteenth od April Anno Dom 1777 reference being thereunto had may more fully appear together with all and singular the buildings Improvements Profits Previledges and appurtenances to the same belonging TO HAVE AND TO HOLD all and singular [the] above granted and bargained for Land Premises with every part and parcel thereof to him the said Drury Lunday and to his Heirs and Afsigns to the only prop [er] Benefit and Behoof of him the said Drury Lunday his heirs and afsigns forever And the said Thomas Mathis doth for himself his heir Executors and Admin Covenant and agree to and with the said Drury Lunday his heirs and afsigns That the said Drury Lunday shall and may from time to time and at times ?? hereafter peaceably and quietly Have Hold use Occupy Pofsefs and Enjoy said Land hereby sold or meant or Intended to be Bargained for and Sold [paper fold] out any lot hindrance or demand of him the said Thomas Mathis his heirs or of [paper fold] from every other person or Persons whosoever justly or lawfully claiming [paper fold] him or Either of them and lastly the said Thomas Mathis for himself his heirs or Administrators the said granted and bargained for Land NS Premises and Every Part and parcel thereof against him the Sd. Thomas Mathis and his heirs and against the claim or demand of all and very other Person or Persons whatsoever to the Said Drury Lunday his heirs and afsigns shall and Will warrant secure and forever Defend by virtue of thefe Presents In Witnefs whereof the said Thomas Mathis has Hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first above written Sealed and Delivered the presence of                                                                                                       Thomas Mathis {seal}

Drury Lunday was  a brother of Sarah Lunday, wife of Lewis Boatwright. Drury migrated to Amite County, Mississippi and died there about 1816.
