Sunday’s Obituary~Little Jennie Nell Lang
Death of a Child
Special to the State.
Chesterfield. March 15.-- Little Jennie Nell Lang, the 2-year-old child of Mr. and Mrs. Mitchum Lang of the Zoar section of this county, died very suddenly one day last week and was buried the next day at the Lang burying ground near Snow Hill school house. The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. J. L. Tyler.
Jennie Nell was a twin whose twin sister died at birth on 5 January 1913. The two girls are daughters of Malcolm Henry Lang and Grace Arie Eddins Lang.
The Lang burying ground today is known as Campbell cemetery.
My great uncle and aunt John Rufus and Sarah Frances Purvis Lang also had a daughter they named Jennie Nell that died 22 May 1918. You can view her tombstone in this blog post.

Charlie, that's a heart breaking obituary, just tow years old and the second twin to die. Makes me wonder how the family got past such a tragedy.
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree. These two were their first born children.
