Pleasant Elmore Brock and Nancy Jane Davis were married in 1888 and their first born, a daughter, arrived in September 1890. When the above son arrived, Pleas and Nancy Brock had two sons and a daughter.

Records for this time period in Chesterfield County are scarce and it is not known why their young son died after a very short life of 4 months and 4 days.

Three additional children, another daughter and two sons were born to this union.
The unnamed son above was buried at Zoar United Methodist Church Cemetery.

It’s so sad to lose a child so quickly and so young. I know this was a great loss to my Great Grand Uncle and Aunt.

  1. It's sad to learn how many were lost by our ancestors and to see how much hardship they endured.

  2. Yes, these were so sad times for families throughout the world. Diseases were rampant and medical technology was so primitive. We have advanced significantly since those days and we still lose some young children
