In the matter of the Petition of} Probate Court
W D Brock for the sale of} Barbour County
certain real estate for} December 21st, 1894
partition and division}
This day came A. A. Evans, the commissioner heretofore appointed by the Judge of this court, on the 7th day of August, 1893, to sell certain real estate which is particularly set forth and described in the decree of said court made and enlisted in the premises on the 7th day of August 1893 and filed his report in writing and under oath showing his actions and proceedings in the premises. And the said report having been examined by the Judge of this Court and no valid objection or exceptions thereto having been filed or made: It is ordered that the same be in all things approved, ratified and confirmed. It is further ordered that said report together with the commission issued and addressed to the commissioner be recorded as a part of this decree and the said commission and report being read are as followers to- wit:
See Minutes Page 340 also Orphans record No. 27 Pages 360-361. It is further ordered that proper conveyance and title be made by the said commissioner to the said A Major and W H Pruett and W C Petty the purchaser of said real estate conveying to them all the rights, title and interest of the said owners in and to the said real estate. And said commissioner having as directed by said commission, brought unto this Court the proceeds of said sale amounting to the sum of one Thousand and forty five $1045.00 dollars after having deducted there from the cost and expenses attending the sale including his commissions which said costs, expenses and commissions amount to the sum of dollars which sum being added to the other costs of this proceeding including Judges fees and fees of guardian Ad Litem will make the sum of dollars total costs of sale which being deducted from the said proceeds of said sale will leave the sum of $984.06/100 dollars to be paid and distributed among the owners and parties in interest according to their several rights and now on motion of the said petitioner the court proceeds to make distribution and division of the last named Sum. And it appears that the said W D Brock is entitled to the sum of $89.46 being one –eleventh of said Sum. That Tempie Brown is entitled to $89.46 which is one –eleventh of said Sum: That Ella Shelby is entitled to $89.46 which is one –eleventh of said Sum: That Alex Brock is entitled to the sum of $89.46 which is one–eleventh of said Sum: That Mattie Brock is entitled to the sum of $89.46 which is one–eleventh of said Sum: That C H Brock is entitled to the sum of $89.46 which is one–eleventh of said Sum: That Lila Chambers is entitled to the sum of $89.46 which is one–eleventh of said Sum: That Sallie Knight is entitled to the sum of $89.46 which is one –eleventh of said Sum: That J P Brock is entitled to the sum of $178.92 which is two–elevenths of said Sum: That the heirs of Mrs. E. Ramage deceased namely Mattie Ramage and James Ramage are entitled to the sum of $89.46 being the remaining one –eleventh of said Sum in equal proportions. That is to say, the sum of $44.73 each. It is therefore ordered that the Sums of to which the said W D Brock, Tempie Brown, Ella Shelby, Alex Brock, Mattie Brock, C H Brock, Sallie Knight and Lila Chambers and J P Brock are respectfully entitled that each being of age be paid to them respectfully that the sums to which Mattie Ramage and James Ramage are respectfully entitled be retained by the court for the reason that the said Mattie Ramage and James Ramage who are minors have no legal guardian –said portions to which Mattie Ramage and James Ramage are entitled be retained by the court until a guardian for them shall be appointed or until they shall attain full age. It is further ordered that said application, and all other matters in writing pertaining to the proceeding be recorded.
James Brock, b. 19 Oct. 1822 in Chesterfield County, SC was the son of Benjamin and Temperance Brock. He married Martha Jane Teal in 1844. Their first born child William Daniel Brock was born 27 Apr 1845.  After his birth they migrated to Barbour County Alabama where their second born child Temperance A. Brock was born on  30 December 1847.
James Brock and Martha Jane Teal had the following children:
i. William Daniel Brock, born 27 Apr 1845, Chesterfield, Chesterfield, South Carolina; married Josephine T. Brown, 8 Mar 1870, Alabama; died 4 Jun 1926, Barbour County, Alabama.
ii. Temperance A. Brock, born 30 Dec 1847, Barbour County, Alabama; married Robert B. Brown, 8 Jan 1880, Alabama; died 1 Jun 1928, Clio,Barbour Co.,AL.
iii. Mary J. Brock, born 3 Feb 1850, Barbour County, Alabama; married James Grant, 25 Jan 1870, Alabama.
iv. Benjamin Franklin Brock, born 22 Aug 1852, Clio, Barbour, Alabama; married Mary Elizabeth McRae, 27 Feb 1879, Alabama; died 11 Mar 1927, Clio, Barbour, Alabama.
v. Lilly Ann Brock, born 3 May 1853, Barbour County, Alabama; married William Eberhart Ramage; died 25 Oct 1883, Clio, Barbour, Alabama.
vi. Alexander C. Brock, born 21 Aug 1855, Barbour County, Alabama; married Amanda Knight, 30 Dec 1880, Alabama; married Sally White; died 5 Mar 1937, Barbour County, Alabama.
vii. Elizabeth Brock was born about 1858 in Barbour County, Alabama. She died before 1870 at the age of 12.
viii. Christain Brock was born in 1860 in Barbour County, Alabama. She died before 1870 at the age of 10 in Clio, Barbour, Alabama. 
ix. Sarah Jane Brock, born 17 Jul 1861, Barbour County, Alabama; married Clayton Webster Knight, 20 Jan 1881; died 15 Jan 1948, Clio, Barbour, Alabama.
x. James Pleasant Brock, born 11 Apr 1864, Barbour County, Alabama; married Lillie Pearl Tucker Powell; died 27 May 1938, Troy, Pike, Alabama.
xi. Charles Henry Brock, born 29 Jan 1866, Barbour County, Alabama; married Florence B. Clark, abt 1902, Barbour County, Alabama; married Nena Clark; married Levanah Clark; died 21 Jan 1945, Clio, Barbour, Alabama.
xii. Eliza Jane "Lila" Brock, born 8 Jun 1866, Barbour County, Alabama; married George H. Chambers; died 30 May 1934.
xiii. Ella Brock, born Jul 1872, Barbour County, Alabama; married Henry M. Shelby; died 3 Apr 1941, Enterprise, Coffee, Alabama.
xiv. Martha J. “Mattie” Brock was born in 1874 in Barbour County, Alabama. 



James Brock is my 2nd Great Grand Uncle.
