It's Family Time~The James "Bud" Morris Family

 James Morris, aka Bud, was borne 10 June 1853 in Chesterfield County, South Carolina.
he was the ninth and youngest child of Wiley Morris and his wife Charity Short. James had 6 sisters and  two brothers.

Until his marriage about the year 1874 James and his two older brothers helped their father, a farmer. As the youngest child he was too young to get caught up in leaving home to support the Civil War. 

About the year 1874, James Morris married Susan Pressly. The SC Death Certificate for Susan (Pressly) Morris lists her Father as Levi Pressly and mother unknown.

The 1900 Census for Chesterfield County shows James and Susan had been married 26 years with 10 children of which seven were living.    

Of the seven living Daughters I have found birth months and year of birth but have been very unsuccessful with death dates and marriages if they in fact did marry.

The seven known children of James Morris and Susan Pressly are: 

i. Ida Morris was born in Nov 1877 in Cheraw, Chesterfield, South Carolina.

ii. Lydia Morris was born in Sep 1885 in Cheraw, Chesterfield, South Carolina

iii. Henrietta Minnie Morris was born on 2 Aug 1890 in Cheraw, Chesterfield, South Carolina. She died on 6 Aug 1984 at the age of 94 in Charlotte, Mecklenburg, North Carolina,

iv. Rosetta Morris was born in Jul 1893 in Cheraw, Chesterfield, South Carolina.

v. Mary Theatus Morris, born 2 May 1894, Cheraw, Chesterfield, South Carolina; married John Willis Knight, 31 Dec 1927, Wadesboro, Anson, North Carolina; died 28 Mar 1966, Cheraw, Chesterfield, South Carolina.

vi. Albinnie Morris was born in May 1895 in Cheraw, Chesterfield, South Carolina.

vii. Winnie Morris, born 2 Aug 1897, Chesterfield, Chesterfield, South Carolina; married Charles Manuel Hudson; died 2 Mar 1978, Lancaster County, South Carolina.

James “Bud” Morris is my 2nd Great Grand Uncle.
