Nancy Dease was born about 1811 in Washington Parish, Louisiana to John Burk Dease and his wife Bridget Gillard. She was the granddaughter of Mark Deese and his wife Nancy [Maiden Name unproven]. She was the 2nd borne and only daughter of John Burk and Bridget. She had 4 brothers; one of which was the eldest of the family.

Sometime around 1840/1841, Nancy Dease and William T. Bothwell were married most likely in Washington Parish, Louisiana. William T. Bothwell was a farm laborer and Farmer born in South Carolina. Their first born, a son Kenyon, arrived in 1841. [He can also be found using the name – Kenneth].

William T. Bothwell and Nancy Dease had the following children:

i. Kenyon Boutwell was born about 1842 in Washington Parish, Louisiana. He died 30 JUN 1894, Washington Parish, Louisiana.

ii. Mary Annie Boutwell, born 5 Jun 1846, Washington Parish, Louisiana; died 1 Mar 1918, Eagle Lake, Colorado, Texas.
