The Death of James Lundy Brock

James Lundy Brock was born 8 September 1808 on Chesterfield County, South Carolina. He was the oldest son of Valentine Brock and Elizabeth Lundy. 

James Lundy Brock never married but his three sisters and only brother, Valentine Brock, were married. 

James Lundy, his father, Valentine and younger brothers, Valentine, owned many acres of land in Henry County, Georgia.  His father, Valentine, died sometime before 1830. His mother, Elizabeth (Lundy) Brock died 12 June 1855. 

James Lundy Brock died on 2 April 1886.

395 State of Georgia}

Henry County} Know all men by these presents that I, J A C Wynn was duly constituted administrators on the Estate both real and personal, of Jas L. Brock late of Henry County, deceased, by virtue of an order of the Court of Ordinary of Henry County granted at the regular October term Eighteen Hundred and Eighty Six of said Court (notice of application for said order having been previously published in terms of the law,) after advertising the same for sale, in terms of the law, did on the first Tuesday in December Eighteen Hundred and Eighty Six, within the legal hours of sale put up and Expose for sale, at public, Outcry before the Court house door at McDanough Ga in the County of Henry the real Estate hereinafter described, when the same was Knocked, off to S. E. Miller of the County of Henry being the highest and best bidder, at the price of Eight Hundred & thirty Dollars; Now for and in consideration of the sum of Eight Hundred and thirty Dollars Cash in hand paid by the said S. E. Miller (the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged), and the said J A C. Wynn as administrator as aforesaid, have granted bargained and Sold and do by these presents, grant, bargain and Sell (so for as the Office of administrator ????) unto the said S. E. Miller his heirs and assigns the following described real Estate to wit one hundred & Eight acres Land more or less Number not Known District 2nd being the house place of J. L. Brock, deceased Bounded as follows North by J R Williams East by public road & Jack Colvin South by W E Single & West by Arch Brown, To have and to hold the same, together with all the rights, member and appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said S. E. Miller his heirs and assigns forever in as full and ample a manner as the same was seized, possessed and enjoyed by the said Jas. L. Brock at the time of his death.

In Witness whereof the said Jac Wynn as administrators as aforesaid have hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal this the 12th day of December Eighteen Hundred and Eighty Seven.
