Death of Mrs. Rachel Sellers

Mrs. Rachel Sellers, widow of the late Joel Sellers, died a few days ago at her home in Gulledge township. Mrs. Sellers was a most estimable woman and had many friends who mourn her passing.




Rachel (Phillips) Sellers was born 15 October 1835, a daughter of Reuben Phillips and his wife Hannah [LNU]. Rachel married Joel Sellers, son of Phillip Sellers, Jr. and Mary E. 'Polly' Gulledge. about 1865. No known children were borne of this marriage. 

Joel Sellers died 6 January 1912; his wife Rachel died 24 January 1918. Rachel's NC Death Certificate says she was buried in the Family Burying Ground, Anson County, North Carolina. No tombstone has been found for this couple.

Rachel (Phillips) Sellers was the wife of my 1st Cousin 4 times removed.
