S. Rivers,
son of Mark Rivers and Annie Parker, was born about 1808 in Chesterfield
County, South Carolina. He appeared in
the census in 1850 -1860 Census in Jones County, Mississippi.8 9 10 He moved to Choctaw
County, Alabama and is enumerated Township 10, Choctaw, Alabama in the 1870
Census.11 He died between 1871
and Sep 1879 in Choctaw County, Alabama.
Between
1868 and 1871, Mark and Catherine took in 3 of the children of James Holifield.
The children named in the apprenticeship case were Milley, Ransom and Miles Holifield.
Mark was James Holifield uncle; the brother of James's Mother Emily.12
James
Holifield parents were Moses Holifield & Emily RIVERS; Emily was the sister
of Mark and Luke Rivers. Moses, Emily, Mark and Catherine moved to Mississippi between
1830 and 1840, Luke remained in Chesterfield until after the 1850 census were
enumerated. Then he moved to Mississippi with his brother and sister.
Irena Catherine Hancock and George S. Fagan
were married on 8 Sep 1879 in Choctaw Co., AL.13 George S. Fagan,
son of Patsy Fagan, was born about 1807 in SC. He appeared in the census in
1860-1880 in Beat 7,
Choctaw, Alabama.14 He died before
1900 at the age of 93.
