Broadus George Rivers was born November 29, 1901 in Howard County, Arkansas to Dr. James Marion Rivers* and Anna Wilkerson. Broadus George is a great grandson of Matthew Rivers and Mary Prince who migrated from Chesterfield County, South Carolina in the early 1830’s and settled in Morgan County, Alabama. [1]
The 1920 Census shows Broadus George Rivers as a “recruit in training” at the U.S. Navy Training Center, Great Lakes, Lake County, Illinois. The Census was enumerated on 2 January 1920. Broadus George Rivers is listed on Line 49.[2]
George married and he and his wife, Phyllis had three children, Phyllis, Charlotte and Frank. George died on April 28, 1947 in Contra Costa, California. [1]
