Carrie Cloveree Rivers, age 16, was born 13 May 1904 in Cleveland County, Arkansas, a daughter of John Lewis Rivers and Rosanna Hurst. She was the 8th of eleven children born into this family. She had 6 sisters and 4 brothers.
On 18 August 1920, Carrie Cloveree Rivers and Ray Grant Cash were married in Cleveland County, Arkansas. Ray Grant Cash, age 23, was a son of William Henry Cash and Rebecca Sarah J. Overton.
Ray and Carrie had a family of 7 children; 4 sons and 3 daughter. All of the children lived to adulthood with the exception of one son who died as a teenager.
The maternal grandparents of these children, John Lewis Rivers and Rosanna Hurst, were born in Chesterfield County, South Carolina.
