MRS. LAURA DAVIS - In the death last Thursday night of Mrs. Laura Davis, Chesterfield lost one of its fine old ladies. She was 83 years old, born and lived here all her life, where her beautiful Christian character will ever be remembered. Funeral services were held in the Zoar Methodist church, Saturday morning. Services were in charge of the Rev. W P. Way, a former pastor. He was assisted by the Rev. Paul Whitaker and the Rev. F. M. Cannon. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Boatwright and was married to Mr. I. J. Davis, Sr., who died in 1917. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Sally Freeman and the following stepchildren: J. C., B. F.,W. J. and Eugene Davis: Mrs. Willie Campbell, Mrs. M. S. Watson, Mrs. N. P. Watson, Mrs. L. L. Boatwright and Mrs. J. C. Eddins.1 b. May 4, 1857

Laura Boatwright, daughter of George R. and Lauretta Hurst Boatwright was the second wife of Isaac Jacob Davis. He married Isabella Jane Teal on November 20, 1867. Isaac and Isabella had ten (10) children, 6 sons and 4 daughters. After the loss of his wife Isabella on 28 March 1893; Isaac married Laura Boatwright on December 26, 1894. They had one child that died in infancy.
Laura Boatwright Davis is my 2nd cousin 3 times removed.
