Chesterfield County Military Veteran~Joseph Benjamin Harding

Military note: Served as a Private, Co. H, 3 Regt Va. Inf.; Spanish American War. 1

Joseph Benjamin Harding was born and served in the War from Virginia. By 1913 he had migrated south to Cheraw, SC where he wooed and married Willie May McCall, age 20, on 16 February 1913. Willie May was born 18 December 1891, a daughter of James Francis McCall and Sarah Jane Privette. 

Joseph and Willie May had 6 children; 3 sons and 3 daughters. Joseph B. Harding died  from broncho-pneumonia on 29 January 1941 and was buried in Old St. David's Cemetery. His wife, Willie May would survive him by 41 years passing away at the age of 89 om 13 September 1982.
 
Willie May McCall, the wife of Joseph Benjamin Harding, is my 1st cousin twice removed.
