 Benjamin Franklin Brock is a repetitive name among the Brock‘s of Chesterfield County, South Carolina. Todays Benjamin Franklin Brock was born 22 August 1852 in Barbour County, Alabama. He is the son of James Brock and Martha Jane Teal. James Brock was born in Chesterfield County, South Carolina; Martha Jane Teal across the state line in Anson County, North Carolina. James and Martha Jane migrated to Barbour County, Alabama between April 1845 and December 1847. Their first borne, William Daniel “Squire” Brock arrived 27 April 1845. Their 2nd Child, Temperance Jane, arrived in Barbour County, Alabama on 30 December 1847. James and Martha Jane Teal Brock had fourteen children. A very large family.

Benjamin Franklin Brock was child number four among the 14 children; he had 9 sisters and 4 brothers.

On 27 February 1879, Benjamin Franklin Brock married Mary Elizabeth McRae. The obituary for Mary Elizabeth McRae show's her to be the daughter of John C. McRae. 

Benjamin Franklin Brock was a farmer like his father before him. Like his parents before him, Benjamin and Mary Elizabeth raised a large family of nine children of which one died as an infant.

iii. Lillie P. Brock was born on 23 Feb 1882 in Barbour, Alabama. She was buried in Oct 1883 in Clio, Barbour, Alabama. She died on 31 Oct 1883 at the age of 1 in Clio, Barbour. 

 iv. John C. Brock, born Jul 1883, Barbour County, Alabama; married Lecie Middlebrooks, 10 Mar 1907, Barbour, Alabama; died 16 Dec 1946, Montgomery, Montgomery, Alabama.
