MRS. MARGARET LAUDIE
Services Will Be Held Wednesday in Independence
Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Laudie, 83, of 1205 West Lexington avenue, Independence, died yesterday at the Independence sanitarium. She was born in Chesterfield, S.C. She moved to Utah in 1901 and to Independence in 1913. Her husband, Charles L. Laudie, was killed in a motor car accident In Independence in December 1932.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. M. E. Mangum, 1040 West Maple avenue, Independence, and Mrs. Lillie Burton, Los Angeles; two sons, C. Lucius Laudie, Provo, Utah and Andrew Laudie, Amsterdam, Mo.; a sister, Mrs. J. W. T. Rivers, Chesterfield and fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Mrs. Laudie has eighteen descendants in the armed services.
Services will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday at the Roland Speaks chapel Independence. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery.
Margaret Elizabeth (Davis) Laudie was borne 28 March 1860, a daughter of Carroll Washington Davis and his 2nd wife, Mary B. Boatwright.
Margaret Elizabeth Davis and Charles Lucius Laudie are shown to have married in1880 according to the 1900 Census Charlotte Ward 1, Mecklenburg, North Carolina.
Margaret Elizabeth Davis and Charles Lucius Laudie had the following children:
i. Mary Eleanor Laudie, born 24 May 1882, Chesterfield, Chesterfield, South Carolina; married Joseph Edward Mangum, 25 Dec 1898, Chesterfield, Chesterfield, South Carolina; died 3 Jun 1967, Clay, Missouri,.
ii. Charles Lucius Laudie, born 18 Jan 1886, Chesterfield, Chesterfield, South Carolina; married Fern Halliday, 2 Jul 1914, Salt Lake City,Utah; died 7 Dec 1968, Provo, Utah County, Utah.
iii. Callie Lillie Laudie, born 12 Feb 1894, Goldsboro, Wayne, North Carolina; married Arthur Reginald Burton, 31 Dec 1913, Farmington, Davis, Utah; died 2 Oct 1957, Los Angeles County, California.
iv. Andrew Blakely Laudie, born 6 Sep 1895, Charlotte, Mecklenburg, North Carolina; married Ada Erickson, 6 Jun 1916, Independence,Mo.; died 7 Nov 1984, Multnomah, Oregon.
v. George Franklin Laudie was born on 12 Nov 1896 in Charlotte, Mecklenburg, North Carolina. He died on 24 May 1897 at the age of 6 months in Charlotte, Mecklenburg, North Carolina and was buried in Chesterfield Cemetery, Chesterfield, Chesterfield County, South Carolina.
Margaret Elizabeth (Davis) Laudie is my 2nd Cousin 3X Removed.
