James Edgar Brock was born on 25 Mar 1872 in Chesterfield County, South Carolina to Samuel Washington Brock and Sarah Jane Lee. He died on 9 Sep 1941 at the age of 69 in Chesterfield, Chesterfield, South Carolina. He was buried on 10 Sep 1941 Westfield Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
James Edgar Brock married Rebecca Jane Lee, daughter of John Thomas Lee and Sarah Jane White. They had 15 children.
Mr. J. E. Brock, 70, died Tuesday at his home near Chesterfield following an illness of several weeks.
In 1886, Mr. Brock was married to Miss Rebecca Lee. Soon after their marriage they built the home in which he lived till his death.
He is survived by his wife and the following children: Ira, Clyde, Sam, Caston, Bonnie, Robert and Henry. The last two named are in the army service and are now stationed at Fort Jackson. The following daughters servive <sic>: Mrs. Carrie Lee, Mrs. Bertha Ratliff and Mrs. Craig Huneycutt.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock at Westfield Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. D. B. Grant, Furman Rivers and Cleveland Caulder.[1]
