Services for William F. Johns, 72, 300 S. Diamond St., will (be) at 10:20 a.m., Thursday in Ellers Mortuary. The Rev. Stanley Purvis will officiate. Burial will be in Crown Point Cemetery with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1132. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the mortuary.
Johns died at 1:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 3, 1988, in his home. He was born Oct. 15, 1915, in Cheraw, S.C., a son of Walter and Arletha (Quick) Johns.
An Army Veteran of World war II, Johns retires as a boiler operator from Cunco Press after 30 years of service.
March 13, 1943, he married Rosetta Jackson, who survives with two sons, Robert W. and William H. Johns, both of Kokomo; two daughters, Patricia Cox and Theresa Morgan, both of Kokomo; two brothers, Monroe and Lewis Johns, both of Chesterfield, S. C.; two sisters, Glennie Boone and Margaret James, both of Chesterfield; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
