Military Monday~2nd Lt. Carrie W. Rivers


Carrie Lou Williams was a daughter of Daniel T. Williams and Viola Etheridge. Born on 1 October 1913 in Lawrenceville, Georgia she married William Blease Rivers on 24 March 1940.

William Blease Rivers was born 7 June 1912, a son of William Turnage Rivers and Henrietta O. ‘Hattie’ Hammond. 2 3 4

Carrie Lou was a Nurse. She served during WWII at Station Hospital, Fort Benning, Georgia from 26 January 1943 until 28 July 1943.

William Blease Rivers was a tool planner in the aircraft industry. He moved from Atlanta, Georgia to Phoenix, Arizona where he worked as a tool planner with the Lockheed Corporation. They also lived and worked in San Jose, California. 

William Blease Rivers died in Feb. 1970 in California and his body was returned to Chesterfield for burial. 6 7

Carrie Lou Williams Rivers died 11 November 1999 in Gilbert, Maricopa County, Arizona. She was laid to rest in the Resthaven Memorial Park, Phoenix, Arizona. 8 9 10
