The Collection is the LEON MADISON RIVERS GENEALOGICAL COLLECTION held by the SOUTH CAROLINIANA LIBRARY, Columbia, South Carolina.
The last time that I sat and reviewed this file was about eight years ago. The Collection consists of at least 4 boxes and many folders. I would suggest that any researcher desiring to look at these files, start with Box 1, Folder 75. I would advise making pre-arrangements with the Library to access this file.
Leon Madison Rivers was active in his research about the same time that Minnie Sanders Rivers was active in her research in Chesterfield in the mid to late 1920’s.

This is just a small sample of data extracted from these files. There are several Family History Booklets within the files; I think I recall looking at one on the Frederick Rivers - Cynthia Knight Family of Alabama.
One caveat about these files. The data consists of correspondence between Leon M. Rivers and the various Rivers families. Many original letters in files and data pages provided by the correspondent. Very little proof that the data provided is accurate and complete. A great starting point; just verify any formation that you find.
Make a list of the data you are interested in and the Library will copy those pages and mail the data to you.
Happy Hunting!!!
Thank you for this blog and sharing it publicly. I am gaining so much more information about my father's side of the family through your research!
