Today’s subject is a 1855 Limited Partnership to Transport Goods between Cheraw, Georgetown and Charleston, SC on the Pee Dee River.

This is to certify that the undersigned have formed a LIMITED PARTNERSHIP, under the name or firm of NEHIMIAH T. LILES.
That the general nature of this business intended to be transacted is THE TRANSPORTATION OF MERCHANDIZE AND THE PRODUCTS OF THE SOIL, within the State and particularly between the City of Charleston and the Towns of Georgetown and Cheraw, and the landings intermediate in the STEAMER CHESTERFIELD AND LIGHTERS.
That NEHIMIAH T. LILES, resident in said state and District aforesaid, is the general Partner.
That WM. GODFREY, JOHN C. PERVIS, DANIEL A. HORN, NATHAN D. STRICKLAN, ARCH’L. MALLOY, DUNCAN MALLOY, JOHN D. PICKARD, JOHN C. EVANS, JOHN T. COIT, JAMES LYNCH and W. L. J. REID, resident in State and District aforesaid, and CHARLES IRBY, resident in Marlborough District and the Sate aforesaid , are the Special Partners.
That WM. GODFREY and JOHN C. PERVIS, have contributed each One Thousand Dollars each to the common stock.
That DANIEL A. HORN, NATHAN D. STRICKLAN, ARCH’L. MALLOY, DUNCAN MALLOY, JOHN D. PICKARD, JNO. C. EVANS, JOHN T. COIT and CHARLES IRBY, have contributed each Five Hundred Dollars each to the common stock
That JAMES LYNCH and W. L. J. REID, have contributed each Two Hundred and Fifty Dollars each to the common stock
And the said Partnership is to commence on the 8thday September, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty-five, and ends on the first day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty-six.
