I have written about James F. Purvis, Sr. b. abt 1760 several times. About 1818 James along with other brothers, most notably Gilbert Purvis, moved from Chesterfield County, South Carolina to the Hinds and Simpson County area of Mississippi after stopping off in Clarke County, Alabama for a short time.
James F. Purvis, Sr died sometime before 28 November 1836 when an Administrator Bond was issued for the management of his estate. I wrote about the bond here:
