This is a new series of posting, appearing every Sunday, on selected Estate Folders from the Estate files of Chesterfield County. No known estates exist for the period before the Civil War. They were destroyed with the burning of the Courthouse. There are a few “Equity Records” in the State Archives. Do not overlook this valuable resources if you are looking for ancestors in Chesterfield County, South Carolina.
Today we will be looking at the following Estate folder:Folder #80
Samuel Boatwright 1
This estate folder begins at image #367 and ends with image #371. (images 367-371)
Samuel Boatwright was born 5 August 1832, a son of Lewis Boatwright, Jr and his wife Elizabeth Rebecca Davis.
He married Sarah Ann Hurst daughter of Isaac Hurst and Henrietta Rivers.
On 19 February 1863, Samuel Boatwright, age 30 passed away. We have no record from that period; so we don't know how Samuel died. Most likely it was either a heart attack or some sort of accident.
Samuel’s probate folder (#80) consists of only 4 pages of which only one page contained significant data. That page is image #370. This page shows outstanding notes due to the estate and verification by the administratrix that this is a true and factual listing. Double Click the images to enlarge.
Samuel's death left his widow, 3 sons, and two daughters.
Samuel Boatwright is my 1st cousin 4 times removed.
