The Alabama Death of Anna Jane Douglass Sellers

Anna Jane Douglass, daughter of John Daniel McLaurin Douglass and Harriett Newell McFarland was born in Chesterfield, South Carolina. At age 20, Anna married Phillip Albert Sellers. Phillip Albert Sellers was the son of Elijah Sellers and Sarah Purvis. 

Anna and Philip reared a family of nine children; 5 daughters and 4 sons. When the youngest child, a daughter was about 11 years of age her father Philip Albert Sellers died on 6 April 1896 in Chesterfield County, South Carolina. He is buried in the Douglass cemetery, Chesterfield County, South Carolina. 

After the loss of her husband, Anna Jane stayed for a while in Chesterfield but by 1910, she had moved to Green Bay, Covington County, Alabama to live with her daughter Sarah Ann “ Sallie”  and Son-in-Law Joseph Benjamin Hilton. This changed took place sometime between 1900 and 1910; the exact date has not been determined.

Anna Jane Douglass Sellers died on 7 February 1914 and was buried in the Evergreen Cemetery, Elba, Coffee County, Alabama.

After 31 years of marriage and 9 children its so sad that this couple was not reunited at death. 

Anna Jane Douglass is the wife of Philip Albert Sellers, my 1st Cousin 4X Removed.
