52 Cousins~Daniel Burnhardt Eudy & Lora Ann Lacena Rivers

Daniel Burnhardt Eudy was born on 24 Apr 1826 in Cabarrus County, North Carolina. He was the son of Christopher Daniel Eudy, Sr and his wife, Catherine Light. Sometime between 1840 and 1850 Christopher Daniel Eudy, Sr. moved his family to Marshall County, Alabama. 

On 22 May 1946, Daniel Burnhardt Eudy, married Lora Ann Lacena Rivers in Morgan County, Alabama. 

Lora Ann Lacena Rivers, was born 1 September 1827 in Chesterfield County, South Carolina, She was a daughter of Matthew Rivers and Mary Prince. The Eudy's and Rivers most likely did not know each other while living in North and South Carolina. Matthew Rivers moved his family from Chesterfield, County South Carolina to Morgan County, Alabama between 1831 and 1833. 

Daniel Burnhardt Eudy's brother Jacob also married Mary E. Rivers, daughter of Matthew Rivers and Mary Prince. So, we have two Eudy's brothers marrying two Rivers' sisters after their move to Alabama.    

Daniel Burnhardt Eudy and Lora Ann Lacena Rivers had the following children:

i. Levi Enoch Eudy, born abt 1847, Morgan County, Alabama; married Sarah Ann Burt, 19 Jan 1870, Sevier Co., AR; married Essie Jane Burnett, 5 Nov 1882, Howard County, Arkansas; died 1895, Texas.

ii. Mary E. "Molly" Eudy, born Sep 1852, Morgan County, Alabama; married Thomas A. Icenhower, 15 Aug 1872, Red River, Texas; died bef 1921, Howard County, Arkansas.

iii. Mahala Eudy was born about 1853 in Morgan County, Alabama. She died  young.

iv. Sarah Nancy "Nan" Eudy, born 26 Oct 1855, Morgan County, Alabama; married Joseph James Henry Icenhower, 31 Jul 1872, Red River, Texas; died 8 Nov 1925, Center Point, Howard, Arkansas.

v. Martha Elizabeth "Mattie" Eudy, born 12 Sep 1858, Morgan County, Alabama; married John B. Hester, 3 Oct 1880, Howard County, Arkansas; died 1925, Hagerman, Chaves, New Mexico.

        vi. Phexmila Cordelia "Corda" Eudy, born 7 Jul 1861, Lamar County, Texas; married Obadiah W. Gilbert, 8 Mar 1885, Howard County, Arkansas; married John H. Richardson, 5 Apr 1905, Howard County, Arkansas; died 15 May 1936, Murphy, Hall, Texas.

vii. Daniel Alexander Eudy, born 15 Jul 1864, Lamar County, Texas; married Julie Joe Ann McKay, 1 Nov 1885, Howard County, Arkansas; died 6 Sep 1939, Turkey, Hall County, Texas, USA.

viii. Michael Matthew "Matt" Eudy, born 13 Jan 1878, Paris, Lamar, Texas; married Missouri A. Evatt, 1 Jan 1893, Howard County, Arkansas; married Nancy Elizabeth Latta, 19 Sep 1897, Howard, Arkansas; died 8 Jan 1944, Hall County, Texas.

ix. Louisa Jane Eudy, born 9 Feb 1871, Paris, Lamar, Texas; married William Riley Mize, 5 Dec 1886, Howard County, Arkansas; married William Etna Gilbert, 17 Aug 1894, Howard County, Arkansas; died 1925, Turkey, Hall County, Texas, USA.

Daniel Burnhardt Eudy died on 20 Apr 1891 at the age of 64 in Center Point, Howard, Arkansas. 

Lora Ann Lacena (Rivers) Eudy died 3 December 1897 at the age of 70 in Center Point, Howard, Arkansas. 

NOTE: There are no tombstones on the graves of Daniel Burnhardt Eudy and Lora Ann Lacena (Rivers) Eudy. No source documents have been found that confirmed these birth and death dates. The dates are from their FindAGrave Memorials; use at your own discretion. 

Lora Ann Lacena (Rivers) Eudy is my 1st Cousin 5X Removed.
