Amanuensis Monday is a genealogy blogging theme. It was started by John Newmark who writes the TransylvanianDutch blog.
His definition of Amanuensis is:
Amanuensis: A person employed to write what another dictates or to copy what has been written by another.
Today’s subject is a Chesterfield County, SC Deed~A. G. Bright as Trustee To Kizzie M. Bullard. 1
Mary Kizzie Brock or Kizzie Mary Brock is an enigma. Mary first shows up in the 1880 Census as the 3 year old niece of Charles A. and Sarah J. Brock. She is listed as M. K. Brock.
Quite some time passed by before I found her name again and that document turned out to be a Chesterfield County Land Deed (DB 5, pages 782-785). I wrote about this land deed here:
https://carolinafamilyroots.blogspot.com/2012/08/the-cestui-que-trust.html
In that Land Deed it states that Mary Kizzie Brock is a child of Irvin Samuel Brock.
So up to this point we know that Mary Kizzie Brock is a niece of Charles A. Brock and daughter of Irvin Samuel Brock. No other record of Mary Kizzie Brock has been found until this week. (Thank you Chesterfield County and South Carolina for putting all Land Deeds on-line).
This week I found a new Land Deed (DB 17, pages 533-536) -
A. G. Bright as Trustee To Kizzie M. Bullard.
From this Deed I learned who Kizzie married and was able to find additional information about her though I’m not sure what her husband middle initial/name really is but I think it "T" based on further research. .
